Le 13 décembre, la deuxième rotation du contingent espagnol au Mali EUTM est arrivée à l’Aéroport International Bamako. Une partie des nouveaux venus composera la compagnie de protection de la force, déployée à Koulikoro, tandis que l’autre partie du contingent est composée des nouveaux formateurs également déployés à Koulikoro, des membres de l’état-major de la mission et des conseillers de la mission ATF qui seront basés à Bamako.
Ce contingent représente environ 110 militaires. Ensemble avec la France, l’Espagne représente le contingent le plus nombreux de la mission.
Le colonel Garcia Cortijo, commandant le contingent espagnol et Commandant Adjoint de Mission, a accueilli les troupes et les a encouragés à rester vigilant, leur rappelant que la sécurité dont ils sont les garant, permettra la formation de l’Armée malienne et donc le succès de la mission. Il a également remercié les militaires en partance pour leur professionnalisme et avant de leur transmettre les félicitations reçues de l’Armée malienne et des autres contingents de la mission EUTM Mali.
Arrival of the new Spanish contingent at Bamako
On December 13th the second rotation of the Spanish contingent in EUTM Mali arrived at Bamako International Airport. The newcomers are part of the Force Protection Company, deployed in Koulikoro. The Spanish trainers also deployed in Koulikoro along with the Spanish members of the EUTM HQ and the ATF (Advisors Task Force) both deployed in Bamako, this contingent accounts for approximately 110 men and women. Together with France, this represents the most numerous contingent of the mission.
Colonel García Cortijo, leader of the Spanish contingent and Mission Deputy Commander received them upon their arrival. He welcomed the troops to the country and encouraged them to remain vigilant, reminding them that the security they’ll provide will enable the training of the Malian Army, and therefore the success of the mission. He also addressed the outgoing rotation, thanking them for their great professionalism and pointing out the numerous congratulations received from the Malian Army, as well as from the other members of EUTM Mali.
